The Rotax engine can certainly be used in F125 Open. We recently had a driver bring his old Honda (they were around the sane time as the Rotax) powered kart to the British GP and he finished 11th in the final out of 21.
We are also planing a clubman challenge on short circuit for F125 Open karts so keep an eye open for that and then all you guys with Open kit (old or new) can come and have a play.

Hi All,

If you put 2 part foam in the nose you need to make sure its in more than one lump or all it dose is cause more damage and injuries.

Get a bin liner and place in the nose. Put the foam in at let it set. Take out bin liner. Cut the foam in to 3 slices. Put the front part in and use a small bit of tape to hold it. Next slice and finally the last bit. Tape this in with tank tape and make sure its sealed.

Doing it way, if it's in contact with a wall / kart etc. it absorbs the energy. This has been tested at Herts uni.
I have just spent the day at Forest Edge. The 250 grid was 24 and some of the kit was quite old. But the racing was great. Every one enjoyed it. Tyers were open so run it allowed people to use 5in and 6in tyers. Cut the bulshitttt rules and lets have fun again.

some of your ideas are excellent. I love the idea of a friday night race. but you have to consider that some of us in superkarting cant just not turn up to work on a friday to go racing! You'd be instantly killing off half the superkart grid!!

The british title idea would not happen in my opinion. bearing in mind most circuits wont allow more than 40 karts on a grid, it would be vastly oversubscribed. you say a reliable icc could win. I race ICC, and I disagree! The majority of the 250 and Div 1 drivers have got their outfits singing and reliable, so ICC's wouldnt stand a cat in hells chance.

A north and south challenge I doubt would work either. We often struggle enough to fill a grid anyway, then by further splitting the classes up into North and South I doubt it could be a viable option. Good idea, but one for the dreamer I think.

Personally, the format of the championship needs to stay as it is, otherwise we will end up just trying to cater for audiences that don't know enough about karting anyway. Keep it simple!!! What we need is for a series sponsor to pay our track hire fees for a year so we can have all classes at one meeting and cheaper entries to encourage more drivers to enter.

Excellent ideas, but we have to bear in mind that, as things are, we stand to lose alot of people if we muck around with formats etc too much.

The street race in Birmingham was OK. I worked on an F3000 team in 1988 and BTCC team in 1989. The circuit was very bumpy.

The IOM race at Peel was won several times by Dicky Alying who spanners for Carle Hulme.

Michael are you talking about 125 races or 250?

As at the moment on short circuit it seems there is no 'write ups' on the races it just states the results. In all the motoring press if possible because it needs more people drawn to it and I think this is the only way. It may help 250 karts to be looked upon as a sport rather than what most people think about karts, a stepping stone into cars. I think this would definetely happen if the auto sports magazine featured all the championship results long and short in there results bit at the back, if this is possible.

if the web sites were kept up to date with all the results and photos then may be someone who is new and wants to come in to 250's can have a look at the 250 scene but the superkart web site has not been up dated since may no results or pics or any news so the general public can not see what or who is doing what

                                      Hi Guys

Thought it might help get attention from the masses, as well as getting all the Superkart guys together, so I made a British Superkart Racing Club Facebook page.

Any of you guys on Facebook please join, and maybe we can advertise this in publication?

Hi Mark

The scumbags that have done this absolutely must be caught and appropriately punished.

As you point out it would appear to be a specifically targeted theft and it saddens me that the perpitrators may be from within the karting (or perhaps motorcycling) community.

Let's make sure that we all keep our eyes peeled and our ears to the ground. These thefts would cease if there was no market for "dodgy" equipment.

Viper Racing UK will gladly put £250 to a fund for information (given in confidence) that leads to the recovery of the equipment and prosecution of the low-life responsible.

Best Regards

Hi John

No problem. The bill is of course in the post. Well done in venturing into the 1.00 min bracket at Darley. Just think what you could do if you jetted down Ah well there's always next year

By the way. . . . . . . . . . . . nice shirt

Gary, I think that I might have sat on them at Castle Combe. I've had a right pain in the b-m ever since
They sell starters overseas in America I am led to believe maybe worth while loging onto www.Ekarting.com and put out your request on the forum or contact Rob Forker via the 250cc superkarts.com website he would definately put you on the right track.
Good Luck
